Planning Guides

There are many guides available to assist communities in planning for climate change adaptation. Some are more comprehensive than others. Below is a list of some of the guides presently available with a brief description of each.

Preparing for Climate Change: A Guidebook for Local, Regional, and State Governments. This comprehensive guide to adaptaion planning targets a US audience. Adapting to Climate Change: A Risk-Based Guide for Ontario Municipalities. A detailed guide that provides guidance through the lens of risk management. http://adaptation.nrcan.gc.ca/projdb/pdf/176a_e.pdf

Canadian Communities' Guidebook for Adaptation to Climate Change. A guide that promotes an integrated approach that incorporates both adaptation and mitigation in the context of sustainable development at the local level.
